Question 1.: Why might the health and safety policy of two organisations, both undertaking similar work, be different?
Answer: The health and safety policy of two
organizations, both undertaking similar work, might be different because the
policy is a reflection of the particular circumstances of each organization; so
any variations in size, nature and organization of operations, etc. will mean
that the health and safety policies will also vary. It may also be the case
that senior managers have very different visions for the health and safety
performance of their organizations.
Question 2. What are the three key parts of a
health and safety policy? Define the key elements of health and safety policy.
Answer: The three key parts of a health and
safety policy are the General Statement of Intent or Statement of General
Policy, the Organisation section or Organizational Roles and Responsibilities,
and the Arrangements section.
